City of Grand Rapids
The Grand Rapids Fireworks, presented by Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, will light up the skies Saturday, July 5, at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in downtown Grand Rapids. It’s free and open to the public.
The event is coordinated by Riverbank Events and Media, home of the Amway River Bank Run and Gentex Santa Parade. Live entertainment kicks off at 6 p.m. and includes food vendors and vendor exhibits.
The family activities continue through 10:30 p.m. and the start of the fireworks display.
Ottawa Hills neighborhood
The Hollyhock Lane Parade kicks off at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 4, on the northwest portion of Ottawa Hills in Grand Rapids.
Following the parade, between Calvin and Giddings avenues, there will be fun for the whole family.
Attendees can expect live jazz, coffee and cookies for the adults, popsicles for the kids, cash prizes for the best kids floats, patriotic sing-alongs and a short address on Independence Day.
City of East Grand Rapids
Presented by Corewell Health, the Friday, July 4 celebration will feature a noon parade, activities at John Collins Park, live music from 8 p.m. to dusk and a fireworks show over Reeds Lake.
